About Mike Wokasch

Mike Wokasch is an experienced 30 year pharmaceutical industry veteran.  A long time interest in medicine and a Pharmacy degree (University of Minnesota) provided Mr. Wokasch with a solid scientific foundation for marketing and sales management (e.g. Merck, Abbott, and Chiron), senior product manager launch of the antibiotic Cipro® in the US, and senior management positions (e.g. Covance and Vertex).  Mike has worked in or managed most functional areas of a pharmaceutical company, providing him with real world working knowledge from which he writes and speaks.

Mike’s love for the pharmaceutical industry is grounded in harnessing the complexities of science and medicine to improve human health and potentially save lives with the help of prescription pharmaceuticals.  At the same time, he is sensitive to the historical missteps that have tarnished the industry’s reputation, compromised its credibility, and fostered public distrust.  Despite the challenges facing the industry, Mike holds out hope that pharmaceutical companies willing to make the necessary changes will thrive in the evolving new healthcare market.

Mike is an avid fisherman and lives with his wife, Mary, on Lake Waubesa in McFarland, Wisconsin, a neighboring town just south of Madison. You can even check out his mediocre bass fishing tournament results on the internet.  He and Mary also enjoy playing golf and traveling when they are not visiting with their three sons, their families, and playing with the grandchildren.

Through this website, speaker presentations, and his consulting practice, Mike looks forward to helping pharmaceutical companies define the issues and develop high impact plans and strategies that deliver outstanding sustainable financial performance otherwise not achievable in the evolving new healthcare market.
